Merry Christmas from the Potters
Merry Christmas from the Potters! During this Advent season, my focus has been on the
humanity of the birth of Jesus. Through
his birth, God was with us, Emmanuel. During this season, I always tend to
focus on a scripture and a hymn. My hymn has been“Hark! the Herald Angels Sing”. I love the line “God and sinners
reconciled”. Because of his birth and ultimate death, we were granted the grace
of God that we didn’t earn but that was given freely. My scripture focus this
season has been John 1:1-5. To me, Jesus is the light that will drive out the
darkness. No matter our troubles, he is there.
John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things
were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life,
and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and
the darkness has not overcome it.
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
With th' angelic host proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem."
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Christ, by highest heav'n adored:
Christ, the everlasting Lord;
Late in time behold him come,
Offspring of the favored one.
Veil'd in flesh, the Godhead see;
Hail, th'incarnate Deity:
Pleased, as man, with men to dwell,
Jesus, our Emmanuel!
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Hail! the heav'n born Prince of peace!
Hail! the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Risen with healing in his wings
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die:
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give them second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Halloween
The girls had a great Halloween. Nana made their costumes again this year. They looked so cute in their poodle skirts. They wore them on Halloween and to the carnival at church.
Also, we went to our favorite pumpkin patch. The girls love pumpkins and picked out some great ones.

Fall Break: San Antonio
This past weekend, we visited San Antonio. The girls had a four day weekend and Wes took a couple of days off to take a vacation. We had a great time. San Antonio is fun because of the history and culture.
The first night there, we headed down to the Riverwalk. We walked, ate dinner, and did some shopping. While we were eating dinner, some of the ducks came and begged for food. It was fun to watch.
The next day, we went to the Market Square. It is our favorite area of San Antonio. We ate breakfast there and spent most of the morning. It was really fun! The girls were told a million times how cute they were in their dresses.
After the Market Square, we went over to the Alamo. Everywhere we went, we ran into a ton of people. There was a line to get into the Alamo. We debated not going in, but the girls needed to see the inside. After looking at the inside, we walked around the grounds. We walked a lot that day. We were beat by the end of the day.
Before we went to bed that night, we took a ride around the city in a carriage. This was the highlight of the girls' weekend. They loved it.
On Sunday, we made our way home. We took a different path home and enjoyed seeing the scenery. We stopped along the way a took a few photos.
We had a great vacation! We love going on adventures and the girls are always happy to go along for the ride.
